
Report of 2018 Remote Pathology Training at the Showa University Thank you to everyone at Showa University! We were extremely happy to see them engage with the training in such a motivated manner. However, this was quickly sorted out by our staff member Nobuko Ueki, so in the end, all the students were able to take the test without any problems.Īlthough there were very few questions about the training system itself, many students asked about the pathology images, and some remained behind at the end of the session to continue looking at the Zoomify images. This year, there was a slight problem when two students mistakenly logged into the same account. In this system, each student is issued with their own individual account, and they also take the test on their own account page. This was followed by the students taking a test in the dedicated online room. After about an hour of self-study, the training ended. It was impressive to see so many students avidly taking notes while going back and forth between the Zoomify images and the explanations, as well as the lecture materials. As computer specifications and settings vary between individual users, problems with people being unable to log in at the start of the training are not unusual, but this year there were no such difficulties, and the training got off to a smooth start.Īfter the students had logged in, they spent some time studying by themselves while viewing Zoomify images. Students brought their own computers into the laboratory and used them to connect to the dedicated Showa University web page.
